I am always in the same situation this time of year. I have this 10 pounds that keeps coming back! I loose it by summer and gain it back by Christmas. How can I stop this cycle?

Well, if there is anything positive about the situation it is that since you have repeated this cycle in the past you should be able to determine what it is that causes you to keep putting on the weight. Once you know that, you can make the changes needed to break the cycle.

So, why do you keep putting on the weight over the holidays? Holiday eating?

I think I get motivated to look good in a swimsuit, so I tend to loose for the summer. Once it startes to get cold outside, I start baking and eating again.

sounds like you need to learn some new recipes. Instead of using lots of sugar, try using protein powder. It will add valuable protein, and it has a pleasant taste. Similarly, try using healthy oil like Flax seed.

That is a great tip GI Jane. I never thought about altering my recipes. I have heard alot about Flax seed but never tried it.

I can't promote it enough. I put it in my protein shakes, oatmeal, pancakes, and my infrequent baked goods (muffins usually). I also recommend adding protein powder in place of sugar. You'll always need sugar, but you can cut out a lot because the protein powders now a days taste pretty good.
