Calcium May Help Hunger In Short Term Weight Loss

A new study improves our understanding of the role Calcium has in facilitating weight loss.

Previous research has shown that a lack of calcium in the diet correlates with weight gain, and adequate calcium correlates with weight loss.

Until now, the exact mechanism has been unclear. A new study from the Institute of Endocrinology in the Czech Republic sheds light on the connection.

The study indicates that adding calcium to the diet improves hunger scores for people who cut calories.  An experimental group on a restricted diet with extra calcium, scored better on hunger measurements than the non-calcium group.

Rule of thumb, if you must cut calories, make sure you get your calcium in.
