I was able to loose 10 pounds in less then 2 weeks by simply not consuming any alcohol.

"All things in moderation", huh? You have a point, Zordani. I never really thought of that.

the body still needs a daily intake of fat, so I believe it's a little bit dangerous. Best is to be moderate in what you do, as is with all things in life.

That's interesting. I never knew that, but it makes sense that muscle is more metabolically active.

indeed weight training builds muscle which is much more metabolically active than fat which causes one to burn more calories even when the body is at rest!

I have heard that weight training helps to boost metabolism because it builds the muscles, and muscle tissue is more metabolically active.

The quickest way ive found has to be cardio. i never used to worry about weight when doing cardio but due to an injury i had to stop. I started with weights and that really helps too (muscle burns more fat even when your resting) so a mix of the 2 is good.

with excersize 10lb isnt to hard to achieve. Its keeping the weight down and the motivation up thats the hard part. Im now looking into supplements etc to help with weight loss, no where near as active as i used to be so need an extra umph.

The problem with cutting your fat intake to zero, aside from the fact that eating will be very boring, is that your body does need a certain amount of fat. Fat is not bad unless you over do it.

I can usually lose ten pound quickly by just cutting down on what I eat and eating more vegetables. But when I lose the ten pounds I'm ready to celebrate and the pounds come right back on.

The question is how can you get rid of ten pounds fast and keep it off?

I see a lot of women spending a lot of time doing cardio. Cardio is great, don't get me wrong, but to lose weight you have to increase your metabolism... and the best way to do that is to add muscle through weight training. I am retired military, and have worked with weights for over ten years. That has always given me the best results. I see more and more women lifting weights, which means they are starting to realize they won't get huge muscles from lifting weights.

I'll take the first stab at this. In my experience, the fastest way to get 10 pounds off is to take your fat intake to zero and your roughage intake through the roof. This is also about as fun as dousing yourself with kerosene, so if someone has a better way I'm all ears.
