I was wondering if anyone knew of some good weight gainer supplements that are safe to use. I want to gain some extra weight, but is afraid to try any of them.

There are quite a few new ones out. Mass Complex they sell here is pretty good. There is also Mass Tech. Stay away from BSN. Their products suck.

Mass Complex. I will go and take a look at it. It seems hard for me to gain any weight so I was looking for a good product to use. Thanks for your reply.

I've heard good things about Mass Complex. They seem to sell rather well here.

The Joe Weider company used to put out some decent weight gainer products but I am not sure if they do so anymore.

Gain weight! That's a great problem to have. What most people don't realize, it can often be just as difficult-- and sometimes more so-- to gain weight as it is to lose weight. Weight gainers are a good (and cheap way) to get extra calories in your diet. Keep in mind that most of the calories come from sugar. If you can eat more, do so, especially from complex carb sources, proteins, and fats (yes, fats are your friends in this situation).

I am assuming though, when you say you want to gain weight, what you mean is muscle. Make sure you are not over training (a common problem) and when you do work out, focus on compound movements like bench press, squats, and dead lifts. These will recruit more muscle and leas to more gains.

I think one should put more stress on using natural methods of gaining weight instead of using some supplements.

High calorie intake can help in gaining weight.

It is true that a high calorie intake from whole foods will lead to weight gain, but often eating foods high in calories also means they are high in bad fats. Supplements, especially whey protein, can be a good way to get what your body needs cheaply and easily. Whole foods should dominate your weight gain, and weight loss strategies, but supplements can be an inexpensive and easy way to get extra protein (whey protein), calories (weight gainers), antioxidants (superfoods), fats (omega-3's), and vitamin and minerals (mutli-vit). So, depending on your goals, don't be afraid to use supplements. Just do your homework, they are not all created equal.

It's always best to check around to find the best product for your needs. Just be careful to check out the company, too.
