Liposuction Improves Insulin Resistance
If you are insulin resistant, you will tend to store carbs as fat and have trouble with weight loss. A recent study out of China indicates that liposuction may improve insulin sensitivity and decrease insulin resistance.
In a study of 20 patients undergoing liposuction treatments, all showed increased insulin sensitivity and decreased total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol.
In a recent article, we showed how excess body fat acts like an endocrine organ to decrease insulin sensitivity by producing excess active cortisol. Weight loss positively impacts insulin sensitivity, meaning you burn carbs better.
Apparently weight lost through diet and exercise or liposuction has the same effect on insulin resistance.
Rule of Thumb: Liposuction helps you stay lean by improving insulin function.
