It's official empty stomach exercise burns fat faster
Cardio on an empty stomach burns more fat. A study out of Belgium now confirms what a lot of us in the fat loss world have known for years.
The study, which focused on 7 males over 45 years of age, aimed at discerning if morning cardiovascular exercise on an empty stomach was more effective at burning fat than exercise after eating.
The results showed clearly that the rate of fat burning was higher on an empty stomach vs. post meal. Additionally, the study also showed that in the case of exercise post eating, the insulin response to food was moderated by exercise. This means that if you exercise after eating, your body does not need to produce as much insulin. This is good news for those of us who love pancakes for breakfast.
