Healthy Weight Loss for Permanent Change

Blogging can be a fulltime job. Sitting hours in a front of a computer will not burn calories - an average person burns about 2,000 calories a day being moderately active. This article is designed to highlight the dangers of overeating, malnutrition, and poor exercise. Step one is to acknowledge that you are either currently overweight, or on the road to getting there. You might think, "I don´t eat much - how am I so fat?"

Do you ever eat fast food? Sodas? Beer? These foods all contain empty calories. For example if you ate three meals at McDonald´s (Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit with large coffee for breakfast, Double Quarter Pounder® with Cheese with large fry and coke for lunch) You would have eaten over 2460 calories, 102 grams of fat with 38 grams being saturated. Not to mention the 359 micrograms of cholesterol and 4,220 micrograms of sodium! This would make even the most active of all people in need of weight loss training! Avoid processed meals, avoid sugary or salty foods, avoid high fat foods, and avoid calorie-dense meals.

Try this for breakfast instead:

Strawberry orange whirl
25g fresh strawberries
50g low-fat fromage frais
1 glass orange juice
1 glass skimmed milk
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
(122 calories, 9 grams of protein, 2g of fiber and 0.4 grams of fat)

For lunch:
Chicken Cherry Wrap
1/2 cup nonfat lemon yogurt
1 Tbsp honey Dijon-style mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp coarsely ground pepper
1 1/2 cup finely chopped, cooked chicken breast (8 oz)
1 cup dried tart cherries
1/2 cup seeded and finely chopped cucumber
1/3 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup sliced green onions
4 whole wheat flour or tomato-flavored flour tortillas (8- to 10-inch)
(284 calories, 5g fat and 500mg sodium)

For dinner:
A lean steak (94+% fat free)
¼ of a small onion, sliced
2 ½ oz mushrooms, sliced
Half a Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Half a Tbsp chopped parsley
(200 calories, 7g fat and 360mg sodium)

Here you have sample diet under 600 calories, low in fat, higher in protein and contains low sodium and higher fiber-content. Of course tastes may change so feel free to browse our site on search the internet for other low calorie recopies, but the point has been made. You can eat real portions of real food and lose weight.

This takes care of your diet, but what about exercise to speed weight loss and for overall better health? We know that many bloggers are pressed for time and many people don´t enjoy traditional exercise (who does?) but here are some fun alternatives which work great!

Nintendo Wii Sports
Paintballing
Bowling
Mountain Biking
Simply walking!
Playing with your dog (if you have one)
If you´re a consenting adult with another consenting adult - sex
Snowball fight in winter
Etc. you get the idea!
